The incident in Westchester took place around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when a DEA task force conducted a car stop on the target's vehicle. That's when Jamie Sostre-Martinez, 41, accelerated in the  direction of a DEA agent and government vehicle at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Prospect Street, in Yonkers, the DEA said

When encountered with this deadly threat, one shot was fired. The agent jumped out of the way and his vehicle was rammed back 10 to 15 feet.

“As part of an ongoing drug investigation targeting members of a cocaine distribution organization operating in the Yonkers/Bronx communities, three people were arrested today and half of a kilogram of cocaine was seized, said DEA Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan. "At the time of the arrest, one of the defendants used their vehicle as a deadly threat, attempting to drive directly into a DEA Agent."

Donovan said no one was shot, no injuries incurred.

"DEA is committed to keeping our neighborhood safe from the perils of drug abuse and the consequences of drug trafficking by arresting those responsible for it," he added.

The Task Force pursued Sostre-Martinez,  who drove two blocks to Prospect Street and Riverdale Avenue and then crashed his vehicle into a parked vehicle. He then fled on foot, but was arrested, the DEA said in a statement.

Two other, unidentified suspects were also arrested.
